Marine Manager

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

  • Develops and maintains positive customer and port relations by understanding customer needs, contract terms and conditions, and by developing and implementing plans to meet those needs, and by ensuring that staff and labor demonstrate customer service principles.
  • Operates within approved fiscal budget limits. 
  • Conducting of ISM, ISPS and MLC Internal Audits on board ships operating under Gulf Area.
  • Analyzing working practices, writing  reports, detecting deficiencies and non- conformities,
  • Introducing and monitoring corrective measures in co-operation with the Management, the Department Heads at the office and the ship's command
  • Defining training needs of crew members & Crew selection.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable international and national codes, guidelines and standards such as ISM Code, ISPS Code, SOLAS, MARPOL etc.
  • Flag requirements.
  • Insurance and accident.
  • Conducting / reviewing shipboard Risk Assessments.
  • Tasks might be taken care of, also on the side of another job in smaller companies.
  • Complies with area accident prevention / safety and workers' compensation programs and procedures.  Provides regular training and on-going feed-back to staff and labor.
  • Supervise and evaluate superintendents, ensuring the level of performance required and the productivity necessary to achieve current and future goals.
  • Ensure that staff and labor work effectively as a team with each other. Ensures effective and regular communications and high employee morale.
  • Work closely with other terminal staff, vessel operators and their agents in developing accurate and efficient plans to load / unload vessels.
  • Develop, communicate and maintain operating procedures designed to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Determine the appropriate labor, gear and equipment requirements to safely and efficiently complete the vessel requirements in a cost-effective manner.
  • Inspect equipment prior to use, notifying M&R of necessary repairs and replacements.  Investigate all damage to determine cause, prevent future occurrences, and takes corrective action when required.
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.

 Experience

  • Has at least 10 years of experience in a similar function with minimum 3 years in GCC countries.

 

Educational Background

  • Fully certified Master Mariner.

 

 

SALARY PER MONTH: 8,220 -11,000 USD

TRANSPORTATION: PROVIDED BY COMPANY
