Duties: Responsible for implementation of company wide safety initiatives and the Quality and Safety Management System. Operate and maintain the incident and near-miss database systems. Work closely with vessel superintendents and vessel management teams to resolve safety related matters onboard. Regularly visit vessels to observe operations and provide feedback to vessels on safety related matters. Participate in audits of vessels to assess their compliance with the company’s QSMS, ISM, ISO and flag state requirements. Provide timely responses to vessels’ safety committee meetings and maintain statistical information regarding incidents. Assist with and/or prepare company safety bulletins. Liaise with owners and charterers regarding operational matters

Prerequisites

Candidates must have previous experience in a HSE role and hold senior tanker certification as a Deck Officer or Marine Engineer. Preference may be given to candidates who have experience as a Master or Chief Engineer.
